Baphomet Pewter Pendant

This pewter pendant features Baphomet and a Pentacle is approximately 1.25 inches in diameter and comes on a legend card with a 33 inch long black cord on an information card with a 33 inch long black cord.

Baphomet is an enigmatic, goat-headed figure found in several instance in the history of occultism. From the Knights Templar of the Middle-Ages and the Freemasons of the 19th century to modern currents of occultism.

Baphomet is a term originally used to describe an idol or other deity which the Knights Templar were accused of worshiping, and subsequently incorporated into disparate occult and mystical traditions. It appeared as a term for a pagan idol in trial transcripts of the Inquisition of the Knights Templar in the early 14th century. The name first came into popular English usage in the 19th century, with debate and speculation on the reasons for the suppression of the Templars.

The Pentacle represents the four elements fire, water, earth, air and ether (spirit) and the circle represents eternity and infinity, the cycles of life and nature. The circle touching all 5 points indicates that the spirit, earth, air, water and fire are alll connected.

Christians wear the Pentacle as a representation of the 5 wounds of Jesus. The 5 wounds were inflicted to Jesus during his Crussifiction. Pentacles in Christian beleifs are used to make Demons run away, or protect the wearer from Satan.

Material
Pewter Pewter is a malleable metal alloy, traditionally 85–99% tin, with the remainder consisting of copper and other metals. It has a low melting point and is very easy to cast in molds. It has been used since ancient times for everything from jewelry to table wear and was once called the "poor mans silver". Generally pewter has a grayish/silver semi-dull finish, though this varies depending on the metals combined with the tin and can be colored black or other shades or plated with gold or silver. Pewter is generally hypo-allergenic and will not tarnish or react in most conditions. Note it can break or crack if flexed multiple times and rings cannot be re-sized, though interior ring springs or other adjusters might be used.
