Chalice Pewter Pendant

This pewter pendant in the shape of a Chalice with a Pentacle is approximately 1 inch long x .5 inch wide and comes on an information card with a 33 inch long black cord and is available in either a pewter or antique brass over pewter finish.

Information card reads:

The Chalice is an important tool in the Wiccan Way. It is a vessel for fluids which symbolizes feminine receptivity. The inside of the Chalice is identified with the womb, the source of life. To share a sip of water or wine from the Chalice shows that we all derive our spark of life and divinity from the same source. The true ritual Chalice is used only in sacred ways and never for ordinary drinking. The feminine qualities of water are those of receptiveness and the ability to go with the flow, to yield at the right time, and to transmute oneself into ice, water, or steam. Just as water absorbs other substances, and then evaporates, leaving them behind, so the Chalice is a symbol of transmutations and the ability to absorb and release the negativities of this world, and still remain true to our real nature.

The Pentacle represents the four elements fire, water, earth, air and ether (spirit) and the circle represents eternity and infinity, the cycles of life and nature. The circle touching all 5 points indicates that the spirit, earth, air, water and fire are alll connected.

Christians wear the Pentacle as a representation of the 5 wounds of Jesus. The 5 wounds were inflicted to Jesus during his Crussifiction. Pentacles in Christian beleifs are used to make Demons run away, or protect the wearer from Satan.

Material
Pewter Pewter is a malleable metal alloy, traditionally 85–99% tin, with the remainder consisting of copper and other metals. It has a low melting point and is very easy to cast in molds. It has been used since ancient times for everything from jewelry to table wear and was once called the "poor mans silver". Generally pewter has a grayish/silver semi-dull finish, though this varies depending on the metals combined with the tin and can be colored black or other shades or plated with gold or silver. Pewter is generally hypo-allergenic and will not tarnish or react in most conditions. Note it can break or crack if flexed multiple times and rings cannot be re-sized, though interior ring springs or other adjusters might be used.
